Nixa has been a practicing yogini since 1984 in the Iyengar, vinyasa and Anusara styles, teaching vinyasa yoga since 2000 and training teachers in New York City and in Tokyo since 2003.
Nixa holds a B.S. in Education from Temple University and a Masters degree in Holistic Wellness. She has an herbalist certification from the East West School of Herbology and a skin care license from the Aveda Institute. She completed teacher trainings in 2000 at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram in the Bahamas and in 2001-2003 through Anusara Yoga with John Friend and Amy Ippoliti. Since 2001, Nixa has been a dedicated student of Rajanakan Tantrism with Dr. Douglas Brooks, and has been supremely blessed by those teachings. Nixa is devoted to natural health and a spirituality-imbued lifestyle. She offers through her work the seeds of self empowerment. |

Nixa, with supreme grace and generosity, has created a curiosity and desire in me to practice yoga.
